STRONG START: Housing Market Boost

The metro housing market is starting off the year strong.

The Des Moines Area Association of Realtors says in January they sold 13-percent more houses compared to January of 2012, that’s an increase of about 114 homes.

The average sale price was also up 13-percent compared to last year.
