TRIAL DELAY: Court Clerk Records Tampering

The trial for the Grundy County Deputy Clerk of Court has been delayed.

Brigitte Van Nice is accused of lying to help a same-sex couple obtain a marriage license.  She is charged with tampering records, perjury, and two counts of forgery.

According to Prosecutors Van Nice claimed to have officiated a same-sex marriage ceremony involving a Florida couple that never took place.

She also allegedly falsified the names of the two people she claimed were witnesses to the ceremony.

The trial will now begin in April.
