A new audit shows $48,000 is missing from a small Iowa town.

Investigators discovered that some of that missing money went to the city clerk in Stockport. Over several years, Beverly Runyon allegedly increased her payroll checks, adding up to over $15,000.

Runyon’s IPERS and Social Security account were also improperly raised by about $4,000. Runyon’s employment was terminated in 2011.

The findings have been handed over to the Division of Criminal Investigation and the Van Buren County Attorney’s Office.
