Michael Jordan turns 50 today, have you heard? Jordan was, and will always be, my favorite athlete of all-time. I was in my teens when MJ was in his prime. I loved watching him play. As a kid I would try and watch the Bulls whenever I could. I’m not even a Bulls fan, I’m a Jordan fan.
I remember my Mom bought me one pair of Jordan shoes when I was in grade school. I didn’t wear them very often, not because I didn’t like them but because I didn’t want to ruin them. Here’s the Jordan’s I had. ———->
The kind of stuff Jordan did on the court still amazes me. I don’t care what anyone says, Jordan is the greatest player of all-time, and its not close. Kobe is very good, he’s not Jordan. Lebron is a physical specimen and at times unstoppable, he’s not Jordan. I find it laughable when analysts today say Kobe or Lebron are as good or better than Jordan. Seriously? He’s the greatest, period.
I still think Jordan could walk on the court today and score 15 points, easily. He just beat his #1 pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Do Kobe and Lebron have a song about them? Didn’t think so. “Be like Mike.”
The Hawkeyes crush Minnesota by 21. This after being down by 16 in the first 7 mins. At one point in the 2nd half Iowa was on a 50-17 run. Crazy. The Hawks CAN make the NCAA tournament, winning 4 of their final 5 is a MUST, and at least one in the BTT, it’s very doable.
The curse of the last second shot continues to haunt Iowa State. Up 3, Fred Hoiberg fouled Texas with 10 seconds left, it worked…Problem is why didn’t they foul AGAIN with 3 seconds left? Now Hoiberg says they were supposed to, but in that situation you need to foul BEFORE the ball even gets inbounds. Tough loss to the Longhorns, but the Clones take care of business against TCU. I still think ISU makes the Big dance.
The IOC can no longer be taken serious, ever again. Dropping wrestling from the olympics but keep trampoline, synchronized swimming, and the pentathlon. Yea that makes a whole lot of sense…..Not.
Congratulation to the SE Polk wrestling team. The Rams won the state duals and the traditional team title this week. It’s the first boys state title for the school in ANY sport. Hard to believe that’s true, but it is. Rams dominated.
Emotion from a wrestler winning a state title is hard to match in any other sport.
Danica won the pole for the Daytona 500. Cool, sure. But let me know how she’s doing with 10 laps left in the race.
