A five-year-old hurt during a high-speed chase is now recovering at home with his mother.
The child was in the back seat of 33-year-old Jeremiah Johnson’s car Friday morning. Clive police tried to pull Johnson over but he took off.
Johnson led police on a chase reaching speeds of over 110-miles per hour. At Highway 92 in Indianola, Johnson smashed into a police cruiser and died.
The five-year-old survived and was treated at a Des Moines hospital.
The boy’s mother tells Channel 13 the child is recovering from his injuries.
