Linn County residents learned the likely location for the proposed casino on Monday.
Developers, architects and the “Vote Yes Linn County” campaign team met to discuss possible locations for the proposed casino in Cedar Rapids.
In an afternoon press conference they announced that a location called the Riverfront, directly across the Cedar River from downtown and near Interstate 380, is the most ideal because it has the right amount of space and is already mostly owned by the city.
In two weeks, Linn County residents will head to the polls to decide whether or not to build the casino in a March 5 gambling referendum vote.
