Help could be on the way soon to help Iowa counties pay for mental health services.

The state is currently in the middle of a transition to a regional mental health network. Officials hope it will eventually save counties money and help coordinate services, but during the transition period budgets are running short.

A Senate subcommittee approved a plan to give $11 million to counties to pay for mental health costs through June 30th.
