West Des Moines residents can see what their tax money is being used for this Sunday.
Valley High School is opening its doors and inviting residents to come check out the new three-story addition.
It includes a cafeteria with six serving lines and 14 state of the art science labs. There is also a new FEMA safe shelter paid for with a $1.7 million grant.
The entire project cost about $65-million and is being paid for with pepple funds and sales tax revenue.
Students will be stationed throughout the addition to help provide direction and information about the building.
Work should be complete by next year.
