Jury selection began Tuesday morning in the trial of a Wapello County man accused of killing his pregnant wife.
Seth Techel is charged with first degree murder and non-consensual termination of a pregnancy.
Investigators say he shot and killed his wife, 23-year-old Lisa Techel, while she slept in May of 2012. According to an affidavit in the case, Techel was having an affair with another woman at the time of the murder. Techel allegedly told the other woman a few weeks before Lisa’s murder that it would all be better in a couple of weeks.
