JURY CHOSEN: Seth Techel Murder Trial

Opening statements are set to get underway Thursday morning in the trial of a Wapello County man accused of killing his pregnant wife.

A jury was seated Wednesday afternoon in the murder trial of Seth Techel. He is charged with first degree murder and non-consensual termination of a human pregnancy.

Investigators say Techel shot his wife Lisa Techel last May in the couple’s home near Agency. They say he was having an affair with another woman at the time of her murder.

Lisa was a reserve deputy with the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.

Opening statements are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Thursday.
