A bank in Evansdale has made a big donation to the memorial for cousins Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins.

The girls disappeared in July near Meyer’s Lake. Hunter’s found their bodies in December in Bremer County.

First Security State Bank is giving $10,000 to be used to pay for a gazebo on the island on Meyer’s Lake.

The park near Meyers Lake was renamed to honor Lyric and Elizabeth earlier this month.

Other plans for the island also include a pedestrian bridge.
