PRIMATE SANCTUARY: Offering Tours To Public
For the first time in three years, central Iowans can check out the jungle life living in the metro.
The Iowa Primate Learning Sanctuary, formerly known as the Great Ape Trust will re-opens its doors to public tours on Sunday.
In earlier February Channel 13’s Sonya Heitshusen took us on an exclusive tour of the bonobo sanctuary, getting access to the facility and animals that no reporter has been granted before.
The sanctuary is allowing public tours again to boost its fundraising efforts so it can continue its mission.
You can sign up for a tour on the sanctuary’s website.
There is a minimum donation of $20 per adult and $14 for each child under 12 required.
Along with the tour you’ll also get to meet the bonobos and hear a lecture on the importance of the work at the facility.
