ROLLOVER ACCIDENT: Crews Work To Move Truck

A jack-knifed tanker truck caused some delays on Interstate-35 Friday morning.

Police say an SUV merged onto the interstate and hit the truck, causing the driver to lose control.  The tanker truck jack-knifed and rolled into a ditch near the Oralabor exit in Ankeny.

Rescue crews had to break a window to free the truck driver. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The SUV driver wasn’t hurt.

Lanes along I-35 were closed for several hours while crews worked to empty the liquid from the tanker truck.  Officials say because it took them longer than expected to empty the cargo, they will have to close the northbound I-35 ramp at Oralabor Road again on Saturday to remove the semi truck and trailer.
