A Senate subcommittee will discuss a bill Thursday morning that would allow some online wagering in Iowa.

Senate Study Bill 1068 would allow businesses that operate gambling games on an excursion boat, gambling structure, or racetrack enclosure to operate internet wagering on poker.

However, a Des Moines Register survey shows not all Iowans think online gambling should be legal in the state.

The poll, conducted by Selzer & Co. of West Des Moines, shows nearly three-fourths of Iowans opposed such an effort.

A similar bill was approved last session by the Senate.

It did not pass the House.
