A Wapello County jury heard more testimony Thursday morning about the murder weapon and cause of death of Lisa Caldwell Techel.

Seth Techel is accused of shooting his wife inside their home last May. He is charged with first degree murder and non consensual termination of a human fetus.

Techel claims he was in the shower at the time. The medical examiner says Lisa was shot once in the chest and died minutes later, along with her unborn child.

According to the autopsy, there were no defensive wounds or any signs of a struggle on her body.

Authorities found the murder weapon outside the couple’s home. The 12 gauge shotgun belonged to a close friend of the defendant who had left it at the home.
