Crews are cleaning up after a train derailment in northwest Iowa spilled soybean meal and soybean oil Thursday morning.
The Union Pacific train derailed just before 6:30 a.m. on a stretch of track that runs parallel to Highway 60, about three miles north of Sheldon.
Nineteen cars went off the tracks and seven of those lost their load of soybean products. No one was injured.
UP spokesperson Raquel Espanoza says some rail crossings in the area are closed because of the cleanup efforts and they are still investigating the cause of the derailment.
