Light snow Friday morning caused some slick conditions on roads across central, north central, and eastern Iowa.

The Iowa Department of Transportation is advising motorists to reduce their speed because of slick conditions and make sure to leave plenty of room between your vehicle and the one in front of you. The DOT says roads in eastern Iowa are partially or mostly snow and ice covered.

Drivers are also being reminded not to use cruise control when roads are slick, because it can cause an unsafe acceleration that could make your vehicle skid.
