Iowans have spent all winter clearing snow but on Saturday, hundreds will run through it.

Sleepy Hollow Sports Park is hosting its first annual Snow Run.

It's part of a charity 5K series that includes mud, water, and beer runs.

Last summer, drought conditions made preparing for the Mud Run difficult.

For this run, the obstacle has been falling out of the sky all week.

"We'd have snow in this area even if we had to run our machines for a few days ahead of time. Over the past week, we've realized we won't have to turn the machines on once. That worked out well for us. there is plenty of snow,” said Nathaniel James, General Manager at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park.

Proceeds from the run will benefit Endure Iowa, a non-profit aimed at helping families affected by cancer.

You can still register Saturday from 6:30 to 7:30 AM.
