A Wapello County jury heard from accused murderer Seth Techel Friday morning.
The state played an hour long audio recording of him talking to a deputy the morning his pregnant wife, Lisa, was shot to death.
In the early morning hours of May 26, 2012, Techel says he was in the shower, heard a blast, ran into the bedroom and found his wife. He told the deputy that he heard a noise in the house, grabbed his gun and ran after the shooter.
When he came back, Lisa wasn't breathing and he called 911.
Techel broke down several times during the interview.
Techel is charged with first degree murder and non consensual termination of a human fetus.
