PAWN SHOP: Council Considers Moratorium
On Monday, the Windsor Heights City Council will consider a motion to prevent a new pawn shop from opening.
The council will consider approving a temporary moratorium on new pawn shops and pay-day lending businesses.
The motion comes after several complaints from businesses about a proposed pawn shop.
Residents and business owners say the proposed shop is located too close to an existing pay-day loan shop.
The council meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
