A Des Moines restaurant worker has been arrested and charged with forgery for allegedly stealing customers’ credit card information.

Des Moines police say Kham Chanthakone was working at Pho Saigon Restaurant at 1452 2nd Avenue when the thefts occurred. They say he took at least three credit card numbers from customers who used them to pay for their meals, then used the numbers to pay his personal bills.

Chanthakone is charged with four counts of unauthorized use of a cred card.

The owners of the restaurant where Chanthakone worked have been cleared of any involvement in his crime.

Police are urging anyone who has eaten at the restaurant since January 1st and used a credit card to check their statements carefully to make sure there are no unauthorized charges. Contact your bank or credit card company immediately if unauthorized charges are found.
