Seth Techel’s mother took the stand Tuesday morning at his murder trial in Wapello County.

Techel is accused of the May 2012 death of his pregnant wife, Lisa. He’s charged with first degree murder and non consensual termination of a human fetus.

On the stand, Lorraine Uehling-Techel described a close relationship with her son and daughter-in-law. She choked up when she described them all as “one big family.”

The jury also heard from witnesses who saw the couple the day before the shooting.  They say the two looked like a happy couple and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.
