BIG GIFT: $15 Million For UNI Teacher Program

A Des Moines businessman announced Wednesday he’s giving the University of Northern Iowa $15 million.

Richard Jacobson’s gift is going to the College of Education. Jacobson says UNI is renowned for the quality of teachers it produces.

The money will be used for scholarships and research among other initiatives.

This is Jacobson’s third gift to UNI’s teacher education programs.

UNI says this is the largest gift the school has ever received.
