A Creston man was killed by a farmer in Kansas Tuesday.
Police had been looking for 42-year-old Joseph Lemasters after he violated probation. After finding his car abandoned on the side of the road in Sumner County in southern Kansas, authorities warned nearby farmers to be on the lookout for him.
One farmer spotted Lemasters on a neighbor’s property and confronted him with a shotgun.
The farmer claims Lemasters threatened to kill him, so he shot him to protect himself.
Police do not expect any charges will be filed.
