FINAL DECISION: Board To Make Superintendent Pick

The Des Moines school board will reveal its choice for superintendent Friday.

Members held a closed session meeting at noon to discuss the three finalists.

The candidates are current interim superintendent Tom Ahart, the chief academic officer for Washington, D.C. publicĀ  schools Carey Wright, and the current superintendent of the Anchorage, Alaska school district James Browder.

Former superintendent Nancy Sebring resigned last May.

Board member Dick Murphy will announce who the contract has been offered to at 2:30 p.m.
