A horde of shoppers filled a West Des Moines grocery store Thursday night.
The West Des Moines Leadership Academy held what it calls a stash mob where people raced through the store to fill grocery lists.
On this occasion, they were shopping for breakfast foods and personal hygiene items to donate to West Des Moines Human Services.
Organizer, Amy Seidelman says the event is more than just charity, “We really want to help provide some of the basic needs and gathering at an event like this is fun for us and gives us a chance to reconnect as alumni,”
Hy-Vee set aside two checkout lanes allowing them to get in-and-out for the charity as fast as possible.
