RIVER LEVELS: Skunk Rising Rapidly

Most of the snow from our last storm melted before this storm moved in.

That melting snow along with the rain and this storm is causing problems we haven’t seen in a long time; flooding.

The South Skunk River near Ames is rising rapidly.

The river has risen by nearly seven feet since Saturday morning but is still five feet below flood stage.
