The state auditor is releasing information about Iowa’s budget situation Monday.
David Vaudt is holding a briefing Monday morning.
He’ll make comments on Gov. Terry Branstad’s proposed fiscal year 2014-2015 budgets.
Last fall, Vaudt said lawmakers were doing a better job of spending what they can afford. He also warned lawmakers to prepare for fewer dollars from the federal government once Congress starts cutting spending.
Forced spending cuts kicked in March 1st because of the sequester.
Department of Management director Dave Roederer says Iowa could lose $46 million in federal funding this year alone because of the sequester.
