Officials say the man who injured three North Liberty police offers during a short standoff died in the exchange of gunfire with police.
Twenty-eight-year-old Taleb Hussein Yousef Salemeh was killed Sunday night at his home in the Holiday Mobile Home Court after police responded to a 911 call. Police say they were called just before 6:00 p.m. regarding a domestic dispute at 238 Holiday Lodge Road.
The three North Liberty police officers injured by gunfire were taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment. The injuries were not life threatening and the officers have been released.
A female in the home at the time of the shooting was not injured.
Police say the officers involved in the shooting are on administrative leave while an internal investigation is being completed.
