ICY ROAD: Iowa Woman Killed In Crash

A northwest Iowa woman is dead following a crash on an icy road in Clay County Tuesday morning.

A crash report filed by the Iowa State Patrol says 40-year-old Mindee Wilcox of Rossie was headed northbound on Highway 71, south of Spencer, when she lost control and slid into oncoming traffic. Her vehicle was struck by a semi.

Wilcox died of her injuries.

The driver of the semi, 56-year-old Gary Yeager of Nebraska, was not injured.

The investigation into the crash continues but the Iowa State Patrol says Highway 71  was covered with ice at the time of the accident.
