MURDER CASE: Not Guilty Plea In Child’s Death

A man from Pacific Junction has pleaded not guilty to killing his girlfriend’s 13-month-old child.

Twenty-two-year old Colby Puckett is charged with first degree murder.

Police say Puckett was caring for Aliyanna May in February when the child suffered severe eye and head injuries.

Puckett told police that the child fell off a bed, but doctors say the injuries were caused by abuse. The little girl died at the hospital the day after she was admitted.

Puckett is being held at the Mills County Jail. His trial is scheduled to begin on April 23rd.
