The new superintendent for the Des Moines School District will be sworn in Tuesday night.

Tom Ahart has been serving as interim superintendent since the resignation of Nancy Sebring. Last week, the Des Moines school board chose him from three finalists to take over as superintendent.

Ahart will be sworn in at Tuesday night’s regularly scheduled school board meeting.

His annual salary has been set at $260,000.
