A Wapello County jury spent Tuesday behind closed doors trying to decide the fate of 22-year-old Seth Techel.

The six men and six women deliberated for a little over an hour Monday afternoon and then resumed work Tuesday morning.

They were heard listening to the 911 recordings of Techel from the morning he reported the shooting of his wife.

Techel is on trial for first degree murder and non consensual termination of a pregnancy.

The state claims he killed his wife in May of 2012, in order to be with another woman.  His defense argued an armed intruder committed the crime.

The jury will continue deliberations Wednesday. We will bring you the verdict as soon as it comes down.
