A father and son were killed in an accident at a grain bin Thursday afternoon in northeast Iowa.
Emergency crews were called to Schneider’s Milling in Waverly just after 1:00 p.m. and the men were pulled from the bin around 2:15 p.m.
Family members tell KWWL that the men killed were Rick Schneider and his son Adam Schneider.
Waverly Fire Chief Dennis Happel says the men were doing maintenance work but became trapped in about eight to ten feet of corn.
Kaiser Corson Funeral Home confirms services are pending for Rick and Adam Schneider. Both worked at Schneider’s Milling, a company owned by Gary Schneider.
An investigation into the accident will be done by OSHA but officials have no reason to believe foul play was involved.
