March came in like a lion at Blank Park Zoo.  Deuce the zoo’s new two-year-old male lion is officially on exhibit.

He came to the zoo last fall, but had to go through a quarantine process, and then get acquainted with the zoo’s two current lion residents, Gavivi and Falala.  Now that the snow is gone, Deuce is out in the open and ready to welcome visitors.

Last year the zoo’s previous male lion, Cha Cha was humanely euthanized because of terminal cancer.

The zoo is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the spring.
