HIT-AND-RUN: Driver Sentence Hearing

On Monday, a Des Moines man who injured a metro runner in a hit-and-run accident will learn whether he’ll serve time for the crime.

41-year-old Robert Edmonds pled guilty to leaving the scene of a serious injury accident that happened last November along 56th Street.

Edmonds admitted to hitting Kendra Cantelope while she was jogging.

Cantelope suffered broken bones and a collapsed lung.

Two weeks after the crash, Edmonds turned himself into police.  His sentencing hearing is set for 9:30 Monday morning.
