LIFESAVING AWARD: Two Honored For Heroic Actions

This week, the Urbandale City Council will honor a police officer and his intern.

On Tuesday, the Council will present officer Zach McDowell and Nick Schroeder with the lifesaving award.

They will receive the honor for pulling 18-year-old Ian Waseskuk from his burning car.

Police say the teen was doing doughnuts in the church parking lot when he lost control and hit the building.

The ceremony starts at 7 p.m.
