This spring break, Iowa students and their families are finding ways to give back.

Meals from the Heartland is holding a Spring Break Hunger Fight Tuesday through Thursday at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.

The goal is to put together 750,000 meals for food-insecure families in Iowa and around the world.

Volunteers can register online for two-hour shifts between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Walk-ins are not guaranteed a spot.

Organizers say spring break is the perfect opportunity for parents to spend time with their kids and teach about helping others.
