DIRECTOR FIRED: Cell Phone Use Inappropriate
The director of a non-profit, publicly funded organization that helps disabled people has been fired for using his cell phone inappropriately.
The Des Moines Register reports that 44-year-old Scott Gill of Iowa City was dismissed in October.He served as executive director of Access 2 Independence of the Eastern Iowa Corridor for almost four years.
Gill admitted to sending or receiving more than 11,000 personal text messages, plus up to 800 photos in just one month. Reports also say Gill let a volunteer use his phone to take intimate photos of her and her boyfriend.
This information came out during an unemployment benefits hearing.
His application for benefits was denied.
