A 19-year-old Knoxville man is in the Marion County Jail after video recorded from a webcam of a sex act with 15-year-old girl was distributed.

Jake Smith is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and third degree sexual abuse.

Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada says the sexual act took place in February at a Knoxville apartment and was recorded without the girl’s knowledge. Police say there were other males in the room at the time of the incident.

Police learned about the video after being called to Knoxville High School on an assault involving the female in the video and another female who had seen the video.

The investigation into who recorded and circulated the video continues and more charges could be filed in the case.

Smith is being held on a bond of $21,000.
