SILENT KILLER: Senate Passes Radon Bill
Lawmakers at the statehouse are working to protect Iowans from radon.
The Senate passed a bill that would change building codes to help protect against the invisible, odorless gas that seeps in to homes through the soil. Radon has been linked to lung cancer.
The new legislation would also require public and private schools to test for radon gas by June of 2015.
The bill now goes to the house for consideration.
