Another financial matter will take center stage in the Iowa Senate Monday.
Debate is scheduled to begin on Medicaid expansion legislation.
Backers say the plan would insure tens of thousands of low income, uninsured Iowans. The plan relies of federal dollars and includes a provision that would allow the state to opt out of the plan should those dollars dry up.
Gov. Terry Branstad expects that to happen and is crafting his own, smaller plan. He says it’ll require everyone to pay something.
The state is being force to make changes due to the Affordable Health Care Act.
