The latest information released by Iowa Workforce Development shows Iowa’s unemployment rate held steady in February.
February had an unemployment rate of 5-percent, which is four-tenths lower than February of last year.
“Iowa’s labor force and total employment numbers increased in February, a sign that more individuals are participating in the statewide labor market,” said Teresa Wahlert with IWD. “The state’s labor force participation rate nudged up to 68.3 percent in February from 68.0 percent in January.”
In all, 16 states reported no change in their February unemployment rate. Twenty-two states saw dropping unemployment and the rate rose in 12 states.
The U.S. unemployment rate for February was 7.7-percent.
