Hundreds of metro kids didn't have to wait until Easter to get some chocolates.

A light drizzle came from the skies during the “Easter Eggstravaganza" hunt at Blank Park Zoo.

Kids didn't mind getting wet while searching for 15,000 eggs hidden throughout the zoo.

It wasn't just about the kids, the animals got into the festivities.

“Some of our big cats had ostrich eggs to hunt for in our exhibits, the seals, sea lions, and otters got eggs today, and other animals have egg related enrichment in their exhibit as well,” said Shelley Gooder, Activities Director for Blank Park Zoo.

Following the egg hunt, kids could ride the carousel and take pictures with the Easter bunny.
