An Iowan who became well-known after his speech advocating same-sex marriage went viral on the internet is speaking at Iowa State University Tuesday.
In 2011 Zach Wahls, who was 19 at the time, made a speech before the state legislature about being raised by two moms. A video of the speech went viral and since then he’s been featured on national TV and toured the country, advocating for same sex marriage rights.
He’s also written a book “My Two Moms: Lessons Of Love, Strength And What Makes A Family”.
Tuesday night he’s giving a talk on the Iowa State campus. It’s at 7:00 p.m. in the Memorial Union Great Hall.
It’s free and open to the public.
