Preliminary investigations show mechanical problem are to blame for a plane crash in the Quad Cities Monday night.
Police in Davenport received calls about a small plane going down in a cornfield shortly after 8 p.m.
The pilot was the only one aboard the plane and he was not injured. He told police he was trying to land at the Davenport Municipal Airport when mechanical problems forced him to land in the field.
The FAA and NTSB were called to investigate the incident.
