The Iowa Department of Corrections says an inmate at the Fort Des Moines Work Release Facility failed to return Tuesday and is now on escape status.

Twenty-four-year-old Osvaldo Guerra, Jr. was serving a 15 year sentence for intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent, and voluntary absence.

Officials say Guerra didn’t return to the work release facility after an assigned treatment meeting Tuesday.

Guerra has black hair, brown eyes, and several tattoos. He is five-foot-nine and 178 pounds.

If you have any information on his location you’re asked to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office or the Des Moines Police Department.
