NEW ART: Altoona Library Sculpture Unveiling

The Altoona Public Library is about to get some new décor.

Des Moines artist John Brommel created a sculpture for the library. His creation is made of scrap metal welded together.

The picture above shows the work in progress

The library will hold an unveiling of the finished product Saturday morning.

The library director says the completed sculpture will be two-thirds the size of a Volkswagon bug. The project cost $5,000.
