Des Moines police have arrested a woman in connection with a fire that damaged an east side bar earlier this week.

Forty-six-year-old Dawn Herman is charged with first degree arson.

She’s being held in the Polk County Jail on $25,000.

Police think she set a fire in the bathroom at Ron’s Dawg House on East University Tuesday night.

The fire caused $10,000 in damage.

A bartender told investigators that Herman came out of the bathroom shortly before the fire and told her there was smoke in the women’s bathroom.

Nobody was injured in the fire.
