RAGBRAI STOP: Waterworks To Host Riders
Des Moines city officials have chosen a spot for RAGBRAI riders to hold their overnight stop.
Of several locations up for consideration Waterworks Park was chosen because it was the only place large enough for all the expected riders.
The RAGBRAI Director says about 7,000 people stayed at a camp ground in Cedar Rapids last year, and they expect a similar turnout in Des Moines.
Riders will likely enter Des Moines on Southwest 63rd Street and take Park Avenue and George Flagg Parkway to get to Waterworks.
